North Carolina’s southeastern counties boast an abundance of cultural and historic attractions in the areas of art, heritage, military, science and other general areas. Both the larger cities and the small towns offer residents and visitors plentiful opportunities for enriching and enjoyable experiences. In addition to the places listed, colleges and universities in the region have performing arts and seminars that feature performers and speakers of national and international renown. Several cities also have regional theaters, symphonies, local arts councils and an abundance of local festivals (also see Festivals and Events in this section).

New Bladen Lakes Players (NBLP), Dublin
NBLP strive for excellence in theatre and entertainment in the southeastern North Carolina region. Columbus County
Columbus County Arts Council, Whiteville
A non-profit arts center with a mission to promote and increase public awareness, knowledge and appreciation of the arts in the county. Serves both individuals and organizations in the county by presenting or providing funding for exhibitions, performances, festivals, workshops and residencies. Facility is open on a regular basis and they offer a variety of programs, including classes, exhibits, performances, as well as, a small sales gallery featuring work by local artists.
