COMMUNITY COLLEGES
North Carolina’s 58 Community Colleges serve in excess of 800,000 students annually. In southeastern North Carolina, more than 110,000 students are served by 8 Community Colleges. Programs range from general education to industrial and specialized technical training. While administered at the local level, all colleges are part of the North Carolina Community College System and a high percentage of institutional funds originate with the state government. Tuition rates are among the lowest in the nation at approximately $38 per semester hour (2005-06) to provide accessibility to all constituents of North Carolina.
