Passenger Rail Service

In Cumberland County, Amtrak’s North-South Silver Meteor and Palmetto trains have daily scheduled service to the Fayetteville Train Station in route between New York and Miami. 910/483-2658, 472 Hay Street, Fayetteville, NC.

Full service station with ticket sales and checked baggage service available. Open daily: 10:00 am—5:45 pm and 10:00 pm—5:45 am. Tickets may be purchased at the station ticket sales window, on board train with prior reservation, from a local travel agent, or online via www.amtrak.com. Train schedule effective 10/30/06 is outlined below:

In Richmond County, Amtrak’s North-South Silver Star train has scheduled daily service to the Hamlet train depot in route between New York and Miami, Florida. Located at 2 Main Street, Hamlet, NC. Unstaffed station with attendant opening station one hour before and until one hour after all train arrivals and departures. Historic Depot open for passengers. Ticket sales and checked baggage services are not available. Tickets may be purchased on board train with a prior reservation, from a local travel agent or online via www.amtrak.com. Train schedule effective 10/30/06 is outlined below:
