With no teaching assistant graduate students, the St. Andrews faculty works one-to-one with students to challenge them to reach their full potential. 89% of the faculty holds a Doctorate or the highest degree in their field. Faculty-mentored student projects designed with the particular interests of the students along with contract majors and built-in career planning enable students to graduate from St. Andrews with résumé quality experience ready for today’s competitive workplace or graduate school entrance in just four years.
Student life at St. Andrews is full with an abundance of social and sports opportunities. Students are actively engaged through weekday symposia, weekend parties, retreats, trips, impromptu gatherings, 55 clubs and organizations (from ECO-Action to Model UN), and a variety of sports offerings. St. Andrews is a Division II member of the NCAA with men’s baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, lacrosse, track and field, swimming, wrestling and soccer teams. The women’s teams are basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, golf, track and field, swimming, volleyball, and lacrosse.
On-campus housing is guaranteed for all students. Eight residence halls, with ample parking, are divided into suites of six or seven rooms each. Student rooms are wired for Internet use with two connections in every room. The 640-acre campus, built around a 70-acre lake, provides a safe and picturesque environment conducive to learning and becoming a part of the close-knit St. Andrews community. New students find it easy to become a part of the diverse yet caring St. Andrews community. Students from 42 states and 11 countries learn from each other while developing lifelong relationships. Campus life is based on the Honor Code with a keen respect for individual differences and traditions. St. Andrews graduates are making a difference in the world as international business executives, Civil Rights lawyers, medical professionals, Peace Corp workers, ministers, newspaper editors, university deans, state Teachers of the Year, veterinarians, and one is a Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
