JobLink Career Centers are user-friendly facilities providing job seekers, training seekers and employers access to a variety of employment and training services all under one roof. North Carolina has developed a system of JobLink Career Centers such that people are able to make informed choices about their careers and employers can make informed choices about their workforce needs.
In a JobLink Career Center, customers come first. By offering a wide range of service options from self-service to full-service, JobLink Career Centers offer comprehensive training and employment services to the community. JobLink Career Centers make the best use of scarce resources while serving all citizens of North Carolina. Staff work together as a team to provide the most comprehensive and efficient workforce development system possible.
JobLink Career Center Services
Services available to Employers in each JobLink Career Center include:
- Work recruitment assistance
- Single point for filing and filling job orders
- Rapid Response Assistance for plant closures and mass layoffs
- Worker Training Information
- Tax Credit and hiring incentive information
- Labor market information outreach
- Other services identified by the local business community
JobLink Partners
Local JobLink Career Center partners include:
- Workforce Investment Act, Title I programs and services
- Adult (an individual 18 years old or older)
- Dislocated Worker (for an individual who lost her or his job)
- Youth (ages 14 through 21)
- Migrant and Seasonal Farmworkers
- Employment Security Commission (public labor exchange and unemployment insurance assistance)
- Local JobReady (School-to-Work)
- Vocational Rehabilitation
- County Department of Social Services - WorkFirst program
- County Department of Social Services - Food Stamp Employment and Training program
- Veterans Employment Services
- Trade Adjustment Assistance and North American Free Trade Act Transitional Adjustment Assistance
- Title V of the Older Americans Act - Senior Employment program
- Local communities may include additional partners
