Early College High Schools are part of the New Schools Project, newschoolsproject.org. Thirteen (13) early college high schools opened in NC for students for the 2005-2006 school year. Three (3) of these are in the Southeast region. Twenty (20) additional early college high schools opened in NC in the 2006-2007 school year and five (5) are in the Southeast region. Also, three (3) more early college high schools have opened in the Southeast region during the 2007-2008 school year.
