  include agricultural principles in their biology,

  chemistry and biotechnology courses.

• Five of the community colleges in the region offer

   two-year degrees in certain agricultural principles.

   > Sampson Community College—Horticulture

      Technology; Livestock / Poultry Technology

   > Southeastern Community College—Forest

      Management Technology

      agriculture heavily in their biotechnology program

      offerings.

• The NC Agriculture Extension Services

   www.ces.ncsu.edu) has seminars and field days

   centered on specific topics for producers.

• NC State University (www.ncsu.edu) has 19 different

  departments that focus on various specialties within

  the agricultural fields.

 

FOOD PROCESSING

In NC’s Southeast Region over 15,000 food production

workers are employed in approximately 100

companies.
