• NC Military Business Center
(www.ncmbc.us)—assists NC
companies in locating
and bidding on military contracts. Also helps
companies locate ex-military workers for jobs.
• NC Military Foundation (www.ncmilitary.org) —
works to coordinate
state and regional efforts to
“grow” NC’s military and defense sectors.
• Ft. Bragg BRAC Regional Task Force
(www.bracrtf.org)—works to
coordinate and plan for
the major influx of personnel and businesses as
a result of FORSCOM relocation.
• All American Defense Business Association
(www.aadba.com)—
a membership organization of
companies doing business with military
bases,
provides networking opportunities, informational
services and
introductions to potential contract
partners.
• NC Partnership for Defense Innovation (PDI)
(www.dstanc.org)—supports emerging companies
with new technology development
necessary for the
Americas warfighter. As a non-profit organization,
PDI connects the private sector to DHS in several
ways, one of which is
to commercialize technology
developed by the Pentagon. PDI runs the
following
programs:
> Defense Security and Technology Accelerator
(DSTA)—a business
incubator specifically for defense
and military technology
companies offering short-
term, secured office space and shared
services for
companies needing a quick entrée into the Regional
business community.
> SOF wireless lab and testbed—provides companies
an opportunity
to test the functionality of new
systems for delivery of video, still
imagery and
sensor information from a variety of platforms.
• Specially Designed Military Business Parks —
designed with
military contractors in mind, parks
under construction to be ready for
defense/security
companies. New construction often includes SKIF
room requirements (not certified).
• Advanced Visualization and Interactive Design
Center
(www.i3dtrain.com) at Fayetteville Technical
Community College —
offers simulation-based
learning ideal for globally oriented distance
education and knowledge transfer. Labs include:
> Tel e-Presence Lab, a state-of-the-art Video
Teleconferencing room
built for “e-synchronous”
i.e., real-time) interactive distance learning.

technologies to create life-like hands-

• All American Defense Corridor
(www.bracrtf.com)—A key national
security zone
stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Research
Triangle.
In addition to the installations in the NC
Southeast Region, the corridor
includes Camp
Lejeune Marine Base, Cherry Point and New River
Marine Corps Air Stations, and Seymour Johnson Air
Force Base. The
Port of Wilmington, a designated
National Security Port, serves as an
international
gateway for military personnel, equipment and
supplies.
Research Triangle Park, with its extensive
technology development
facilities, is home to a vast
program of government-funded R&D.
• UNC Kenan-Flagler Institute for Defense and
Business
(www.idb.org)—focuses on the
interchange of information between the U.S.
military and the private sector. The Institute has
five major program areas:
