Hoke County Welcomes Supplier of Plastic Packing Company

(Raeford, NC) – Governor Perdue announced today the arrival of a new company to Hoke County. Alpla, Inc., a supplier of plastic packaging has decided to locate a facility in Raeford. This new manufacturing facility will create 40 jobs and provide an investment of $7.2 million dollars in Raeford and surrounding areas.
Alpla, Inc. will occupy an approximately 130,000 sq. ft. building previously used by Unilever. This Austria based company has operations in Asia, Europe, South America, and North America. The company will manufacture bottles to be used for products such as body wash, shampoos, and conditioners. Alpla, Inc. is currently a supplier for Unilever. This partnership will continue and will provide Unilever with an exceptional value according to Michael Koenig, Director of Finance for Alpla, Inc.
North Carolina’s Southeast, the regional economic development marketing organization for southeastern North Carolina generated the lead for this project. North Carolina's Southeast serves an 11-county area and has been directly involved in the creation of over 8,150 jobs and over $892 million in new investment in the region since the group’s formation in mid-1994.
Other partners that participated in the project were the Governor’s One North Carolina Fund, Hoke County, NC Department of Commerce, City of Raeford, Sandhills Community College, and the NC Rural Center.
