(Bladenboro) – Palmer Marine Inc., has announced its plans to locate in a 40,000 sq ft. building in the Bladenboro Industrial Park. Palmer Marine, Inc. is a boat manufacturer from Florida, which builds sport-fishing boats. Bo Palmer, the president, announced Wednesday his plans to move his company from Cape Coral, Fl to Bladenboro. The company will provide 120 jobs within the next 3 years and bring an investment of $3 million to the community.
Mr. Palmer said he chose this location because of available labor supply, affordable land, and low property taxes. He also liked the advantages of being further inland. Bladenboro is also centralized for the company’s Northeast and Southeast markets, which helps with cost of shipments.
Chuck Heustess, Director Bladen County Economic Development Commission, credited the marketing efforts of North Carolina’s Southeast for generating the lead that resulted in the company’s decision to locate in Bladenboro, NC.
