Pender County Expects 50 New Jobs

(Burgaw, NC) - Lee's Tackle, Inc. from Miami, Florida found it's way to Burgaw, NC through a website search that landed them on the website of North Carolina's Southeast (NCSE). With the assistance of Steve Yost, Marketing Manager for North Carolina's Southeast, they visited several properties in the region and narrowed their search to the Wilmington area, finally selecting the site in Burgaw.

According to CEO, Lee's Tackle Inc., Mike Curry, they will build a 40,000 sq. ft. building on the site acquired in the Pender Progress Industrial Park. The company is a third generation, 80 years old company that makes products for the boat and fishing industry. Lee's Tackle, Inc. plans to invest approximately $3,000,000 and bring approximately 50 jobs to Burgaw and surrounding the area.

CEO, Wilmington Industrial Development, Scott Satterfield expressed his gratitude to North Carolina's Southeast. "We appreciate NCSE (North Carolina's Southeast) for generating the inquiry that led to this project choosing Burgaw."

North Carolina's Southeast is the regional economic development marketing organization for southeastern North Carolina. They serve an 11-county area, and to date they have assisted in the location of 86 companies to the region. The eighty-six companies have a combined investment of approximately $530,000,000 and have to date created 7,671 jobs.
