Robeson County Welcomes Carolina Pine Shavings

Fairmont, NC- Robeson County economic development officials announced today that Carolina Pine Shavings has chosen to locate in the county. The company produces wood shavings to be used in horse bedding and other applications. Carolina Wood Shavings will create approximately 25 jobs and invest $1.5 million in Fairmont and surrounding areas.

According to Greg Cummings, Executive Director of the Robeson County Economic Development Commission, “this company was introduced to Robeson County through the marketing efforts of the regional economic development partner, North Carolina’s Southeast.”

North Carolina's Southeast is the regional economic development marketing organization for southeastern North Carolina. They serve an 11-county area, and to date they have assisted in the location of 96 companies to the region. The ninety-six companies have a combined investment of $871,575,000 and have to date created 7,998 jobs.
