Robeson County Welcomes J. B. Hunt Distribution Center

(Lumberton, NC) – J. B. Hunt signed a 3 lease agreement to locate a distribution operation in Robeson County. They will occupy a 36,000 sq. ft. building, owned by Robert Freeman on West 5th Street, in Lumberton, NC. The company will warehouse and distribute cardboard to the Mountairre Farms facility in Lumber Bridge for their food processing operation. The company plans to invest approximately $500,000 and create 5 jobs for Lumberton and surrounding areas.
North Carolina’s Southeast generated the industry lead through contact from the Burr and Temkin company which specializes in real estate for transportation companies. Robeson County Economic Development Office in conjunction with North Carolina's Southeast assisted the company in choosing their new location after evaluating multiple counties in the region. North Carolina's Southeast is the regional economic development marketing organization for southeastern North Carolina. They serves an 11-county area and has been directly involved in the creation of over 8,600 jobs and over $909 million in new investment in the region since the group’s formation in mid-1994.
