University Partners Unveil Regional Economic Profile
Across business, knowledge is power. Actionable intelligence drives the bottom line. To aid decision-making by companies in the region, as well as those weighing relocation here, North Carolina’s Southeast has for over a decade published a regional economic profile. The exhaustive reference manual, updated annually, is packed with facts and figures about the region, its economy and business community.
On May 17th, Fayetteville State University hosted an annual luncheon during which the region’s academic partners unveiled the 2013 compilation. They, along with N.C. Southeast board members and staff, joined others for the event. “We certainly appreciate the collaboration of the universities in the region,” says Kermit Williamson, vice chairman of N.C. Southeast, who formally accepted the regional profile on behalf of the organization. “Without their help, the book would not be possible.”
Included in the reference is information on commercial air service, utility infrastructure, media organizations, health and medical networks, and more. The profile, which is printed as well as posted on the Web, enables decision-makers from business and the public sector to identify resources, amenities and answers. “I know first-hand that much of this information is used on a daily basis,” Mr. Williamson said.
