Partnership Hosts State Developers

The Southeastern Partnership hosted a two-day gathering of representatives from the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC). The meeting, held at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery in June, was an opportunity for local economic developers to strengthen relationships with state project managers and showcase the region’s economic assets.

“It was an excellent networking opportunity,” says Juawana Colbert, director of economic development for Fayetteville-Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation. In fact, it was the first time several recent additions to the EDPNC staff had the chance to meet with local and regional developers.

County developers each made 15-minute presentations to EDPNC representatives highlighting availability sites, parks and buildings, along with other relevant assets. Getting to know local counterparts also was beneficial. “It was useful from a best practices standpoint,” Colbert says of the event. “It was also a good opportunity to see what is on the horizon.”
